Muddy Lane

Bastogne, Belgium - 15 Dec 2019      See on Google Maps

This was a nice scene to stumble upon - we were walking back to the bus and had been hiking for well over an hour. The tree arch made me stop - it would be beautiful in summer or fall. In winter it reminded me of the conditions during Battle of the Bulge so capturing the mud and water along with the trees was perfect.

I used the 70-200 at 200 to get past the intersection with the paved road. It was cloudy so I bumped up the ISO to 2500 and brought the shutter speed to 1/250 which was the slowest I could hand hold the shot.

Maybe one day I can return when the trees are prettier.
