Colorful Hallway

Arequipa, Peru - 09 Apr 2024      See on Google Maps

A trip to Peru included a stop in Arequipa where the major attraction is the Santa Catalina Monastery. The monastery has evolved since 1579 as new nuns joined. Each nun's family would build a room or set of rooms for the new nun. Due to the building of small rooms over the centuries the architecture is not very consistent - some of the rooms being very crude while others were well finished.

This picture was taken with my travel lens 24-105mm with the ISO up a bit to allow handheld speeds for sharp pictures. There were great compositions at every turn. This contrast with the red and blue caught my attention.
