Milky Way

San Pedro, Chile - 04 Oct 2018      See on Google Maps

One night in the Chilean Atacama Desert we had an option for a guided trip to view the Milky Way and the planets. We went to a small compound and the rooftop of a home for the lecture. Very informative and the sky was just black so all the stars were bright. These photographs take a long time - this was 25 seconds. Lots of trial and error to get the stars sharp. These also work well with a very wide lens - the wide angle allows for a longer shot but the stars will not have trails. So, as wide a lens as possible.
