Ready to Pounce

On a trip to Madagascar, I was hiking in Palmarium searching for and taking pictures of lemurs. Some of the little creatures would run and others were curious about the photographer. This is a male Black lemur and fortunately he was the curious type.

For most the trip I used a 100-500mm lens needing to be able to zoom in fairly quickly. The Canon R5 and the 100-500 were a great platform for shooting the lemurs. This lemur was fairly static while he looked at me which allowed for a slower speed even though I was in a jungle with low light.

I love his yellow eyes and beautiful black coat. Such beautiful and endangered animals.
