Horseshoe Bend
Page, AZ - 21 Feb 2024 See on Google Maps
As I was driving to a photography workshop in Utah I passed Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ. I was early so decided to turn around and see Horseshoe Bend for the first time. Of course I took my tripod and camera. It was a "ok" picture as it was the middle of the day, however, I had captured the Colorado River way below.
At the briefing for the photo workshop our original plan for the next morning was scrapped due to weather so it was decided we would shoot sunrise at Horseshoe Bend. I was delighted.
This is the picture I took the next morning. Using a tripod and a very low ISO to capture the beautiful colors in the rising sun. I also used a polarizer to reduce the glare off the Colorado River.
