Sarcophagus

Paris, France - 24 Jun 2019      See on Google Maps

In Paris we visited Les Invalides and the military museum there - in the royal chapel is the tomb of Napoleon I. The chapel was excavated for the tomb so it is below the chapel floor. Looking up you can see the beautiful artwork of the chapel. This is a pretty classic picture of the tomb so nothing new - but I like the colors. A very high ISO as the tomb area is very dark. I did not have a tripod so I rested my hands and camera in a low stone railing to be shake free for the long exposure. Later I had to adjust down the exposure of the chapel.
