Cute Little Gargoyle

Strasbourg, France - 08 Dec 2019      See on Google Maps

Walking about Strasbourg's beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg. I had a long lens to capture details of the tall buildings. Focused on the gargoyles way up I almost missed this small detail on the side of the building.

I backed up and used the 70-200 at 140 with a wide open 2.8 to blur the cathedral background. I had to get up on tip toes to get a straight on photograph - so I increased the shutter speed to make up for my lack of balance. Good light so a relatively low ISO.

Love the textures of the stone and metal. I am curious what they were used for - years ago.
