Early Morning Steam

San Pedro, Chile - 04 Oct 2018      See on Google Maps

We arose very early to travel to the Tatio geyser basin at 14,000 feet in the Andes. We wanted to see the sun rise over the geysers. Unlike Yellowstone these were mostly small water spouts, more steam that water. That was the case with this photograph where the steam plays an important part. For trying to coax a starburst was to close the shutter to f22 - really small. On a tripod and two stops down due to the bright sun.
